Have you ever heard of Zaycon Foods? I only heard of them recently but was instantly sold on their products. Zaycon Foods was founded in 2009 and is a privately owned company based in the state of Washington. Their goal is to bring fresh meats and other products directly to the consumer and with no middle man involved. Without a middle man (grocery store) that means you the consumer can purchase their products at wholesale prices.
One of Zaycon Foods most popular items are their cases of fresh boneless, skinless, never frozen chicken breast. The chicken is 100% natural with NO added hormones, additives or artificial ingredients. And the best part is that the chicken is sold for only $1.84 a pound. This is a much better price than what I can get chicken for at my local grocery store and the grocery store chicken is not as fresh nor is it 100% natural.
Placing an order on Zaycon Foods site is so very easy. Simply head to the Zaycon Foods web page and sign up for your free account. You will then be able to find a list of upcoming events. When an event is open in your area you can place and order and prepay. I recommend not waiting until the last minute as these events do tend to sell out quickly.
The minimum amount of chicken you can order is 1 unit which is 40 pounds. If this is more chicken than you and your family can use, it is very easy to split a box with a neighbor or friend as the chicken comes in four individual 10 pound bags.
When I signed up and placed my chicken order, the closest event to my area was one hour away. But since the location was only minutes from where my parents live, I didn’t mind driving there for my chicken because that meant I got to spend some time with family as well.
Now, here is the other interesting thing about Zaycon Foods, it is a drive through meat market. And on the day of the event it was pouring down rain but we stayed totally dry while getting our chicken. No buckling and unbuckling kids while the rain is pouring down on your back, no running through the rain to go inside to pick up the order. How awesome is that?
The event was from 1:45 – 2:45 PM and we arrived right at around 1:45. There was only one car in front of us so no waiting in line. We simply pulled up and handed the printed order slip to the Zaycon worker and he quickly pulled our order from the refrigerated truck. All we needed to do was open the back and he set our boxes of chicken in and we were on our way. How much easier could it get to pick up fresh chicken? I was very impressed that he put plastic trash bags down first before placing the boxes in the car. This way just in case if for some reason any juice would have leaked out it won’t have gotten on the carpet in my car.
After arriving home, we opened the water-resistant cardboard box and found a large bag containing four smaller bags of chicken. The chicken was very cold and the pieces of meat were huge! The meat had great color and nothing slimy in the box only fresh chicken. Depending on what you plan to do with the chicken, you may find some extra fat that needs trimmed off but nothing excessive. I used my 40 pounds and made a huge batch of Chicken Croquettes and pressure canned the rest of the meat.
I love feeding this Zaycon Foods chicken to my family as I know they are not getting anything yucky in this meat – only 100% natural chicken.
Sign up for your free Zaycon account here and find out when the next event is coming to your area. Depending on the area you live, you will also find ground beef, bacon, turkey, fish, pork, milk and fruit sales all from Zaycon. I can’t wait until the next Zaycon event comes to my area. It really doesn’t get easier to get natural chicken at rock bottom prices.
