Paying It Forward Is Gutzy!

I was recently chosen to participate in the Paying it Forward is Gutzy Event. If you are not familiar with Gutzy Gear, you can read head over here to read my review of Gutzy Gear.

Gutzy Gear sent me $25 that I was to use to purchase a backpack and as many supplies as I could with the money. The backpack was then to be donated to someone in need. I started making some calls and through a good friend, found a family with two girls in middle school who needed supplies for the coming school year. I was determined to stretch the $25 and purchase each of the girls a backpack and supplies.

At the top of my list of things I want to teach my daughters, is the truth that it is more blessed to give than to receive. So I was excited to that were able to go shopping with me and help to pick out the backpacks and school supplies. It was a priceless lesson for them and they were so excited to know that 2 kids where going to be headed back to school with supplies that they helped choose.

I took advantage of all the great back to school sales at the office stores in my area and then picked up the remaining items at Walmart. Here is what we bought and the amount we paid:

2 Binders $2.47 each
4  pack Filler paper $0.82 each

1 pack of pens $2.00 moneymaker
