Today was cookie baking day with my mom and sister. It was a fun day and now there are a lot of cookies around my house. My favorite cookie that we made was Cinnamon Roll Yeast Cookies. Here is the recipe:
Cinnamon Roll Yeast Cookies
1 package yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup shortening
4 cup flour
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
Mix flour, salt, sugar in a bowl. Cut in shortening. Add yeast to warm water. Scald milk and cool. Beat eggs. Add beaten eggs to flour mixture and stir until blended. Add milk and yeast. Do not knead. Divide dough in half and roll half of dough out to a thickness or around 1/2 inch. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon. Roll together and slice 1/2 inch thick. Bake cookies at 350° for 10 minutes. While baking, mix frosting ingredients together and frost immediately after taking cookies from oven.
Frosting:
4 Tablespoon butter, browned
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
Add hot water to make spreadable
