Every Thursday I will list three companies for you to contact. Contacting companies is a great way to score coupons. These coupons will often have higher value than the ones included in the Sunday inserts or perhaps be ones we wouldn’t see at all in the inserts or even be coupons for FREE product. Who can’t use more coupons to make the total spent at the register lower?
Why would companies send you free coupons? Companies want to hear from customers. Research varies, but some studies show only 8% of people with problems with a product complain to the company directly! Most people just stop using the company’s product and/or take it back to the retailer. To the company, that 8% represents a lot of people. For every bit of feedback they get, they know a lot of other people feel the same way. Hearing from you is invaluable to them!
Listed are some tips and a sample letter to use when writing to the company.
Be honest. If there was a problem with a particular item let them know. Don’t pretend it is the best if you really don’t feel that way.
Be specific. Don’t just write to Turkey Hill and say you like their products. Tell them that their Liberty Lady Mint ice cream is the best mint ice cream you ever tasted.
Refer to a specific time you used the product. Include thoughts on design, packaging and freshness.
Make it personal. Mention it is the only brand of toothpaste your kid will use.
Thank them for making the product. They will enjoy hearing the thanks.
Don’t come right out and ask for coupons.

I am writing to let you know how much my family enjoys Sunny D. Its our first choice of beverage with our breakfast. My kids would drink it all day if I would let them. Thanks for producing such an excellent drink.
