This evening my husband needed to run to Lowes for some things for work, I went along in and as I browsing around I was surprised to see a big Ball display. They had everything from jars, lids, recipe book and anything you would need to can, even a big canning kettle. As I was looking at everything in the display I happened to see Pickle Crisp granules. I had been thinking of canning some pickles or making a refrigerator kind. Then I saw this product was on clearance for $1.99, the regular price was $4 something and just before we left I had put some Ball coupons in my little coupon pack in my purse. I rarely take coupons along for things that are not on my list but I had put them to give to my sister-in-law tomorrow. Sorry sis in law! Can I give you some pickles instead of coupons? With the $1/1 coupon from the 7/10 RP I only paid $0.99! I saw the price on the jar lids was only $1.59, so with the coupon you could get a pack of lids for $0.59!! Seems like a great price for lids. Now I guess I need to find some pickles and recipes and see if this stuff works. It says it is used in place of the pickling lime. If you are going to be making pickles maybe you want to check your Lowes and see if they have the same thing on clearance. If anyone has a favorite pickle recipe send it my way please.
