Our Frugal Family Fun activity today, was grocery shopping! Now, I must admit I don’t view grocery shopping with kids as the most fun activity in the world but when they get to pick out candy how could they not be having fun.
By using coupons we made this activity super frugal. We are very fortunate to live in an area that has Giant grocery stores and the best part about Giant grocery stores is the gas points program they have. We spent $46 on groceries and earned $54 of gas the next time we fill up. This was out of the norm to earn more gas dollars than money we spent on groceries. And since our purchases ending up being a moneymaker, I didn’t mind letting the kids pick out some candy that was included in the gas points.
Chloe loves frozen waffles and she was super excited when we got to the store and she found out we were getting some for her. In fact, she was so excited that she had some for lunch after we got home from the store.
What frugal, fun activities have you done recently with your kids?
