Rite Aid 101

Here is an in-depth look at shopping at Rite Aid. Hopefully this will inspire you to try your hand at couponing there. It is my favorite drug store to shop at and maybe it can become yours too.

First off you will need a Rite Aid wellness card like the one pictured above. With this card you can get the sale price ect. You can get a card at the checkout counter. Make sure you have it scanned everytime you make purchases there.  You will also get wellness points with your card. They are based on your purchase. When you reach 500 points you can get 10% off all non sale item purchases and when you reach 1000 points you get 20% off all non sale purchases. The points add up for a calendar year and then if you reached 1000 points in one year, you will receive the 20% off all the next year.

You will want to go here and register for a Video Values account. Once registered you can watch videos and then earn coupons for the videos you watch. For example you will watch a 30 second clip about Pampers and then a $1/1 Pampers coupon will be added to your account. The videos change monthly, so watch any or all for things you think you might purchase. The coupons are then under your rewards tab and usually don’t expire for at least a month. So the coupons you watch in August will be good through September. The great thing is these coupons can be used with manufactures coupons, so this is a great way to make the savings add up.

In the picture above you will see what an UP Reward looks like. Every week there are items advertised in the flier that will produce Up Rewards. Here is an example:

Crest Complete Extra White Plus Scope & Deep Clean Mint  $2.99
Get $2.00 Up Reward
Final Price $0.99!

Crest toothpaste is on sale for $2.99 and a $2.00 Up Reward will print at the bottom of your receipt when you purchase the toothpaste. So in reality the amount you pay would be $2.99 and then you would have $2.00 to spend on your next purchase. There is usually a limit to how many Up Rewards you can get on an item, like in this case it is a limit of 2. So if I purchased 3 toothpaste only 2 Up Rewards would print. If you are purchasing quite a few items that will be producing Up Rewards the cashiers usually don’t mind if you split your purchase into 2 transactions. You can then use the Up Rewards that printed out on the 1st receipt to pay for your 2nd purchase. Since the Up Rewards have an expiration date on them, this will also keep you from accumulating more than you can use before they expire.

Then you will want to sign up for the single check rebate here. When you get home from the store go under the tab that says Enter Your Receipts. It will ask you for three different sets of numbers off your receipt. It will usually take 2 – 3 days and then if you purchased anything that there was a rebate for it will show up in your account. You will then be able to have a check mailed to you for the amount you earned. Make sure you have all your purchases entered for the month before requesting a check because once you request a check you can not enter anymore receipts for that month. If you forget to request the check they will mail it to you.
Hopefully that makes shopping at Rite Aid a little easier to understand. If you have any questions feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer them.
