Wordless Wednesday: A Visit To The PA Farm Show

My husband and I both grew up on or around farms and think that are pretty great things. Unfortunately, we no longer live close to any farms and our daughters know very little about the workings of a farm. Thankfully, we have the Pennsylvania Farm Show in our area and we visited this week. This show is the largest indoor agricultural exposition in the country, with nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibits.

This sculpture is made out of approximately 1000 pounds of Land O Lake butter. Talk about a ton of butter!

Wordless Wednesday: The Kids Having Fun Building With Lincoln Logs

Recently the kids decided to get out their set of Lincoln Logs. My 7-year old was very proud of the building she built in the above picture. She followed the instruction sheet and was so excited that she was able to build this without any adult help.

Wordless Wednesday: Fort Jefferson Dry Tortugas National Park

Today’s Wordless Wednesday photos are ones I took several years ago at 19th century Dry Tortugas National Park. This was a very interesting, one of kind attraction that I’m glad my family and I were able to visit.

Almost 70 miles west of Key West lies the remote Dry Tortugas National Park. The 100-square mile park is mostly open water with seven small islands.  Accessible only by boat or seaplane, the park is known the world over as the home of magnificent Fort Jefferson, picturesque blue waters, superlative coral reefs and marine life.

Wordless Wednesday: It Snowed!

Yesterday the kids were so excited to wake up and find it snowing. It was the perfect amount of snow, just enough to give everything a lovely coating of white but not enough that we needed to shovel or to make the roads a mess. The kids had fun sledding and making snowballs. Now today it is almost all gone.

Wordless Wednesday: Herr’s Snack Factory Tour

We recently visited Herr’s Snack Factory Tour. This is a fun family tour where you get to see the Herr’s Snacks like chips and popcorn being made and packaged. No pictures are allowed inside the factory so the only pictures I got where before the tour started. Our favorite part was getting to taste warm chips right off the production line. Yummy!

If you are ever in the Nottingham, PA area I suggest stopping and checking out this FREE educational and fun family tour.

Wordless Wednesday: Look Who Came To Storytime At The Library

Yesterday was storytime with Elmo at our library. One of my daughters favorite characters is Elmo, so she was beyond excited to get her picture taken with him.

Wordless Wednesday: Family Night at Chuck E Cheese’s

My youngest daughter just had her 4th birthday and wanted to spend some time playing at Chuck E Cheese’s for part of her birthday gift. So we made a family night out of it and had lots of fun. Don’t ask in how short of time we went through 100 tokens.

Wordless Wednesday: Whoopie Pies – My Favorite Cookie

Guess I’m not going to be totally wordless today. Whoopie Pie Cookies are my very most favorite baked item. If you would like to make them yourself, here is my Whoopie Pie Recipe.
